About Us
We are Richie and Kristen, two disaster relief workers who met while responding to wildfires in California. After discovering we both were the only responders from Massachusetts, we developed a bond and found solace in our shared passion for painting and playing music.
In 2021, after years of dedicated disaster response work, we decided to return and start Sunset Studios Boston, where we paint and play music inspired by our city.
We handcraft all of our art, ensuring each piece is uniquely ours. We also handle all the printing, matting, packaging, and delivery/mailing ourselves, so everything you receive is made with care from your local Bostonian family.
Feel free to check out our shared Instagram @sunsetstudiosbos for upcoming events, or check out one of our social pages below to see our individual art styles.

Kristen Audette
Kristen Audette is an environmental science/engineer and watercolor artist. In 2019 she was able to use her environmental degree, monitoring and collecting soil and air samples to support human health and environmental compliance for the victims of the Paradise, California wildfire. She noticed the seedlings and wildflowers that started to grow back around the town during succession, which inspired her to paint their regrowth. It was a sign to celebrate the beauty and joy that can be found around us in times of destruction.

Richie Hudson
Ever since Richie was in preschool, his favorite time of day was when he was allowed to draw and paint. As he grew older, his love for the arts grew into his college years, as an art major as he studied at MassArt and Westfield, receiving a degree in Fine art and Art History.
From there, he took his love of art and creativity to Disney College Program in hopes of being an animator. He uses many different mediums, such as oils, acrylics, watercolors, pens, markers and pastels. He believes that working in a single medium is restrictive to his artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. Richie loved spreading peace and love and making others smile, so he fit right in at Disney.
After College, Richie began playing guitar and received a graphic design position and later transitioned in the environmental consulting world. He spent over 8 years working on natural disasters working with wildfires and hurricanes. He started to music gig regularly and work on many art projects throughout his professional career.
He is a big part of the community and has run 9 Boston marathons in his lifetime and helped raise money for multiple charities. In 2019, in Paradis, CA wildfire he met his beautiful long term partner Kristen who he also discovered was from Massachusetts. They both realized they loved to paint and play music and decided to start gigging and playing music as team. Richie’s favorite thing in life is creating art and music and spending time with his two beautiful daughters Kayla and Melina.
